LANTRA Level 2 Qualifications

Since the outbreak of COVID-19 in March 2020, we have introduced on farm/site training in order to comply with the social distancing guidelines.  We can offer you a range of LANTRA ITA (Integrated Training & Assessment) courses which can be carried out from your own farm/site,  with your own equipment and are a cost effective way of continuing your professional development.  For the main, the courses can be run outside,  with some essential writing that will need to take place indoors, such as a workshop, where social distancing can be fully implemented.

LANTRA qualifications are recognised, industry wide (they are an alternative to City and Guilds) but still a Level 2 qualification.  The main differences are,  that for Safe Use (equivalent to PA 1), you do a multiple choice question paper assessment, instead of computer based, and for any of the application units you can be trained and assessed by the same person, so keeping down time to a minmum.

If you require further information, please contact me to discuss.  Call 07775 568497.

City & Guilds Level 2 Qualifications

PA1 Safe Handling & Application of Pesticides

This is often referred to as the Foundation Module. As the course title suggests this addresses all aspects of the safe use of pesticides from a personal safety and environmental perspective. All trainees are required to pass this module prior to taking a test that is specific to the type of equipment that they use.

The course is a day’s duration and the test is a multiple choice format which takes about twenty minutes.

PA2 Boom Handling

This is the module that deals with all tractor/vehicle mounted, trailed and self propelled sprayers.

This is a practical training day which is held either at our premises or on farm. The test can take up to four hours depending on the equipment.

PA4S Safe Appplication of Pelleted Granular Pesticides

PA4G  Safe Application of Pelleted Granular Pesticides

PA6 Safe Application of pesticide using pedestrian hand held equipment (knapsack)

This deals with hand held equipment for example knapsack sprayers including situations where operators are walking alongside vehicle mounted sprayers.

This is a one day course followed by a test lasting approximately two hours.

We generally run courses when there is sufficient demand. Please contact us with your requirements.

We can also organise bespoke courses tailored to individual customers needs.
